I can type I have tried this logged in as an Administrator and a Standard user and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help.

I am sorry but I do not know how to do this. I have changed account to Administrator, re-booted and right clicked and on Properties box everything is "greyed" out. I have rebooted and gone into File Explorer and Map Network Drive is not working as previously described.

I am very sorry but your latest suggestion did not work and I have gone through both suggestions to make sure I did it correctly. Your system requires SMB2 or higher. This drive was working last year as I use it to take a 6 monthly full backup of our music and store off site. Changing the settings above has not changed anything. Additionally our Sonos system can play music from the WD and the TV shows the LG Media Server so both drives are attached to the network, neither is accessible through File Explorer and the WD can play media I appreciate your time trying to help me as I am now totally reliant on your help.   The error message clearly shows that the network shared folder only supports the SMBv1 client access protocol. In this case, you should try to. -Open Control Panel. -Click on Programs. -Click on Turn Windows features on or off link. -Expand the SMB /CIFS File Sharing Support option. -Open Control Panel. -Click on Programs. -Click on Turn Windows features on or off link. -Expand the SMB /CIFS File Sharing Support option.
